Privacy Notice
This privacy notice explains what information Pacezone collects, why we collect it, how we store it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Pacezone is a personal wellness blog operated from Toronto, Ontario. Contact: hello@pacezone.org.
2. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to run the blog and the newsletter:
- First name — to address you in the newsletter and any replies.
- Email address — to deliver the newsletter and respond to your messages.
- Phone number — optional, used only if you specifically request a call-back.
- Message content — anything you write into the contact form.
- Technical data — anonymous analytics about pages viewed, browser type, and approximate region. This helps us understand which articles are useful.
3. Why we collect it
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To reply to messages you send through the contact form.
- To improve the blog based on aggregated, anonymous analytics.
- To meet legal obligations under Canadian and provincial privacy law.
4. Lawful basis
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit a form or accept cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us at hello@pacezone.org.
5. How we store data
Newsletter data is stored with our email service provider. The contact-form submissions are kept in a secure inbox. Both are protected by passwords and two-factor authentication. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your contact details for as long as you remain subscribed, plus a short retention window for legal record-keeping. Anonymous analytics are kept for up to 26 months.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Withdraw consent to processing at any time.
- Object to certain uses of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Cookies
We use cookies as described in our Cookie Notice. The cookie banner gives you the option to accept all cookies, reject non-essential ones, or customise your preferences by category.
9. Third parties
We rely on a small number of trusted providers: an email newsletter platform, a privacy-friendly analytics service, and standard web hosting. Each of these processors handles personal data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
10. Children
Pacezone is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has shared data with us, please write to hello@pacezone.org and we will delete it promptly.
11. International transfers
Some of our providers operate servers outside Canada. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent protection.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no online service is 100% secure. If a data breach affecting your information ever occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the legally required timeframe.
13. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The “last updated” date below will reflect the most recent change. If we make a significant change, we will email subscribers about it.
